EFAFLEX presents two newly developed machine guard doors at CeMAT 2014
EFAFLEX presents two new types of door at this years CeMAT fair in Hannover. Now into its 40th year, the door specialist has two new, winning high-speed industrial doors: the high-speed spiral door EFA-SST®-MS and the high-speed roll-up door EFA-SRT®-MS. Both high-performance machine guard doors are EC type tested and certified for use as movable guards in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC at a proven performance level of d.
Specifically designed for industrial use, the new machine guard doors are highly reliable, space saving and low-maintenance. They serve to separate the hazardous zone of the machine from the workspace of people, in order to protect people against otherwise unavoidable harm. To guarantee utmost safety for people working on machines and support systems, the EFA-SST®-MS and the EFA-SRT®-MS are used together with the machinery control system as automatic, power-operated guards.
A high-performance frequency converter control is enclosed in a steel housing and designed for worldwide use over a mains voltage range of 400-500 V. The functionally adapted drive allows high cycle rates in manufacturing processes, while the integrated encoder avoids unnecessary synchronizations.
The safety limit switches for locking and qualifying the doors safely closed position allows coupling to the respective machine controller. The main closing edge is secured with a combination of contact bar and optional light barrier. Additional protection of the approach area can be assured as necessary according to the operators risk assessment.
The EFA-SST®-MS high-speed spiral door and EFA-SRT®-MS high-speed roll-up door therefore satisfy all demands for safe machine guard doors. With high cycle times of up to seven cycles per minute, they can be used in just about all hazardous manufacturing processes.
The EFA-SRT®-MS has narrow galvanized steel frames, optional floor supports furthermore allow free-standing installation of the door.
The flexible door blade can be chosen as any variety of curtains for a roll-up door. In particular, the manufacturer has newly added a flame-resistant polyester fabric to its range, featuring an optional UV-protection window for welding protection equipment. All flexible door blade variants are free of substances that inhibit paint adhesion. The EFA-SST®-MS also allows free-standing door installation. Its construction is based on the proven EFAFLEX spiral door technology. The durable door blade of the high-speed spiral door is made of anodized, double-walled aluminiumlaths. Optional transparent laths made of single-walled, transparent, impact-resistant polycarbonate ensure a permanently optimum view to the machine area.
