Logistics BusinessRhenus Launches Partnership with Canada’s ICECORP

Rhenus UK has celebrated the loading of its first consolidated container to Toronto, an important milestone in the freight forwarding specialist’s expansion into the Canadian market.

The shipment follows the Rhenus’ announcement of a new partnership with ICECORP, one of Canada’s most widely recognised logistics providers. With a network of nine facilities across Canada, ICECORP will serve as an official strategic partner for Rhenus in North America.

The service to Toronto, via Liverpool and Halifax, Nova Scotia, takes 10 days. Once in Toronto, the goods are cleared and distributed across Canada via ICECORP’s industry-leading distribution network.

Founded in 1989, ICECORP now employs more than 150 people and provides a comprehensive air and ocean network to the North American market. With sites in Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver, ICECORP’s overland network also provides valuable links to key US locations including Chicago and Los Angeles.

The deal with ICECORP is the latest in a string of exciting developments for Rhenus UK, which includes the announcement of a new state-of-the-art facility at Port Salford, Manchester, and the acquisition of Australian logistics specialist O’Brien Customs and Forwarding.
