Tough Hyster Reachstacker For “Everyday” Container Handling Applications

Hyster has introduced a new ReachStacker for handling laden containers up to 45 tonnes. At the official launch events at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai (pictured), and the Intermodal South America Show in São Paolo, Brazil, Hyster presented the new models which have been developed specifically to meet the demands of ports and other tough container handling applications in growing markets.
Hundreds of guests from more than 20 countries attended the launch events on 4 April, including representatives of 7 of the largest global ports operator groups, and other prominent companies involved in the container handling and ports sectors. At the event, Rainer Marian, Big Trucks Sales Director EMEA for Hyster explained the reason for launching the new truck.
“With the new RS45, Hyster set out to create a ReachStacker that would set a standard in low cost of ownership. However, there is no compromise on Hyster’s principles of durability and toughness,” says Rainer. “These trucks offer the same quality components, durability and toughness as any Hyster® Big Truck, alongside intelligent Hyster® design to deliver lower fuel consumption and longer tyre life.”
The new Hyster® RS45-27CH and RS45-31CH ReachStackers are an addition to the existing Hyster® RS46 ReachStacker range, but will be available exclusively to customers with Stage IIIA/Tier3 emissions regulations. Built using proven Hyster® components for maximum dependability these trucks are especially designed for excellent productivity in the first, second and third rows.
For durability, the new ReachStacker has been tested to the extreme, both in the Hyster test facility and in tough customer applications, to be able to withstand the most demanding applications. Container handling operations, such as ports, rely on equipment to perform day after day, month after month. The new RS45-27CH and RS45-31CH trucks are supported worldwide by a network of dealers and highly trained technicians providing responsive local service.
