Logistics BusinessLogistics Provider Signs 23,000m2 BTS Agreement in Utrecht Region

Prologis has announced a build-to-suit agreement totalling 23,000m2 with an international logistics provider in the Netherlands.

The facility will be located at industrial park Het Klooster in Nieuwegein, adjacent to key motorways such as the A2, A12 and A27. The building will be BREEAM “Very Good” accredited and will be delivered in the second quarter of 2017.

Prologis already owns three facilities in the Utrecht region and says that with this expansion, its regional portfolio totals 100,000m2.

“This development reflects a trend in which national distribution companies, retailers and e-tailers increasingly choose this region for their hubs,”
said Johan Gadella, alderman of the municipality of Nieuwegein.”

“We have been active in this region for several years now and see a strong increase in demand for Class-A facilities,”
said Bram Verhoeven, country manager, Prologis Benelux. “This development can be scaled up to an additional 30,000 square metres to accommodate the customer’s growth. Our long-term partnership with this customer and the municipality of Nieuwegein was key to the success of this project.”
