Logistics BusinessImplico Teams with Timm Elektronik for Key Asia Trade Show

The international Implico Group’s booth at this year’s Tank Storage Asia trade show is being designed around the slogan “From entrance to exit”. In Singapore, from 27 to 28 September 2017, the consulting company will demonstrate to visitors how modern software and cloud solutions can optimize their tank terminal processes – from entrance to exit. After a successful joint trade fair stand last year, the company has decided once again to team up with hardware partner Timm Elektronik in 2017.

One of the topics to feature strongly on stand E14 is the cloud. Implico’s downstream experts will be on hand to explain the wide range of application areas of the iGOS cloud services. These range from uniform data communication and collaboration with suppliers and logistics service providers, to automated logistics processes, through to managed services in which specialists from Implico take responsibility for specific routine tasks. The benefits of cloud solutions for tank terminals include lean processes, speedy implementation and predictable operating costs rather than high initial investments.

Implico will also be showing the very latest version of its OpenTAS terminal management and automation system. This software is characterized by its excellent user-friendliness, vast range of functionality and best-practice processes. The newest OpenTAS feature will also be presented at Tank Storage Asia: handheld solutions that enable operational staff to work with the terminal management system during loading. Using a mobile device, staff can now digitally log incoming rail and tank trucks. The data is sent immediately to OpenTAS, cutting out manual input and avoiding typical input errors.

In addition to information on software and cloud solutions, visitors to the stand can learn about the latest measuring and control technology for use in potentially explosive environments. The northern German company Timm Elektronik will be showing its EUS-2 overfill prevention controller for bottom-loading tank vehicles and its EKX-4 grounding control device for top-loading applications. Another hardware highlight will be the latest generation of the SEK-3 marine grounding system. “The solutions from Implico and Timm Elektronik complement each other perfectly and are already being used together in many tank terminals,” says Dr. Thomas Overbeck, CEO and owner of Timm Elektronik. “We expect this to reflect in a corresponding demand for these technologies in Asian markets as well.”
