UK ambient 3PL specialist Great Bear Distribution has named Alastair Isbister as its new Chief Executive Officer effective from May 2017. He will report directly to Culina Group CEO Thomas van Mourik.
Isbister (pictured) joins Great Bear from DHL at a time when Great Bear is trumpeting what it calls the UK’s first tri-modal logistics facility – Port Salford – a 280,000 sq. ft. facility creating 280 jobs, and the currently on-going development of a vast 1,000,000 sq. ft. logistics complex at Markham Vale, Chesterfield which it says is expected to generate a further 800 new jobs.
With nearly thirty years’ 3PL experience, Isbister enjoyed over ten years at TDG, followed by sixteen at DHL where his most recent post was as VP, Business Development & Account Management responsible for Consumer, Tradeteam, Ireland, and the Engineering & Manufacturing sectors – a broad high level position with wide ranging responsibilities.
