Logistics BusinessAgility Wins BMW Gold Award for Excellence in Warehousing

Agility has won BMW’s prestigious Gold Award for excellence in warehousing and distribution. It is in recognition for its work at a showcase distribution centre in Mumbai managed for the carmaker by Agility since 2007.

The Mumbai regional distribution centre (RDC) handles all BMW after-sales logistics in India, including inbound and outbound distribution moving by road and air.

The award, presented at the annual BMW Excellence in Parts Logistics Awards in Munich, Germany, marks the fourth time BMW has recognized Agility India in recent years. Detlev Janik, Agility’s CEO of South Asia, said: “The award acknowledges the excellent levels of service that Agility India provides to BMW India. We have been delighted to work with BMW India for a number of years and look forward to a strong partnership in the future.”

Werner Pagenstert, Director Aftersales, BMW Group India, described the award as a “proud moment” for BMW Group India. “It will serve as a great source of motivation and encouragement for us to achieve excellence and inculcate the spirit of winning in all aspects of our business operations in India.”

BMW selected winners using an evaluation process based on stock accuracy; cost in percentage turnover; on-time performance; error rate; and dealer satisfaction. The RDC in Mumbai excelled in all areas to secure the top spot, despite fierce competition between 40 BMW RDCs worldwide.
