Innovative A-SAFE Product Scoops Major Industrial Design Award

Yorkshire-based manufacturers A-SAFE have impressed judges at the esteemed iF Awards in Hamburg, Germany, taking home the Product Award in Industry/Skilled Trades for the new iFlex RackGuard.
The product, which protects racking legs with a host of never-before-seen innovations, is part of a new range of products from the barrier protection specialists.
The iF Design Awards identify outstanding achievements in design and are recognised the world over as a label of design excellence. The number of competitors this year was huge, with a high-profile international jury assessing over 5,000 entries from 53 countries in order to determine who would receive the iF seal of excellence. The awards were started in 1953 and have grown to become one of the most influential and coveted awards in the design world.
The iFlex RackGuard is the second generation of leg rack protection from A-SAFE. Made from a single piece of co-extruded polymer and rubber, it provides best-in-class frontal and side impact performance on rack legging.
Innovations include unique compression hinge legs which enable the product to grip securely around the racking upright. These work in tandem with rubber centralizing lugs, which ensure the RackGuard is always in the optimum position to protect the racking. As well as this, ten frictional grip points further improve hold on any rack leg. Combined, these features significantly reduce the chance of racking collapse, which in turn keeps people, property and machinery safe.

Made from a trademarked material called Memaplex, which in itself is capable of absorbing and dissipating impact forces, the iFlex RackGuard is available in all standard rack leg sizes, as well as in a dual-branded option. It forms part of a whole new range of barrier protection from A-SAFE, branded as iFlex, which includes Pedestrian Barriers, Traffic Barriers and Column Protectors.
Application of A-SAFE products crosses over into many industries, including airports, warehousing, car parks, cold storage, logistics, construction and engineering.
