Logistics BusinessVogele sorts with new Equinox Touch2Sort system

Swiss fashion retailer Charles Vogele is using 12 Touch2Sort units in their central warehouse in Freienbach from this week on. The Touch2Sort system, provided by Equinox MHE, is replacing the paper order sorting system. The purchase fits in with Vogele’s strategy to optimize its logistic process in the Swiss DC.

Touch2Sort is a mobile RF driven manual sorter system with touch screens in combination with wireless scanners to guide the operators. The touch screens show more data, on bigger screens, than the usual RF scanners with their small screens.

A Touch2Sort system makes it possible to arrange sorting areas in any place in a DC, with unlimited number of locations per area. Vogele has arranged sorting areas on two different floors: one for new items (push) and one for restocking (pull).

By automating the order collecting process, a very high degree of accuracy is reached. Vogele now has real-time knowledge of the exact contents of each crate. Besides, Touch2Sort optimizes operators’ routes.

Charles Vogele has been a customer with Dutch company Equinox MHE for more than 10 years now.

The Hillegom based system integrator has installed sorting installations in Vogele distribution centres in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. With Touch2Sort Equinox MHE has provided Vogele with a custom-fit solution for sorting bigger packages.
