Rhenus has been spreading the joy of Christmas near its depot in Belfast. The Belfast team is celebrating the successful delivery of a giant decorative bauble to the town of Bangor, County Down.

The globe sits proudly on display in the town centre, having been delivered for the Christmas lights switch on. The four meter diameter globe was transported in eleven separate parts for its journey from Zabize, Poland to Bangor, via Dublin, with extra care taken to ensure each delicate section arrived on time and in perfect condition. The entire journey took just five days which left plenty of time to reassemble it before the festivities.

Colm West, branch manager of Rhenus Logistics Belfast, said: “We are proud to offer specialist services that really set us apart from the competition. The bauble was specially packaged before being transported across Europe using the Rhenus network to guarantee it reached its destination in perfect condition. It’s always a special pleasure to ship decorations for the festive season, especially when you think about the children’s faces when they see the Christmas lights. Plus, the decorations look lovely and have helped transform the town into a Christmas wonderland.”

In recent years, Rhenus has increasingly played a pivotal role in transporting Christmas trees and other giant decorations to shopping centres and councils across Europe ensuring everyone from the largest cities to the smallest towns can enjoy the festive season in style.
