Goplasticpallets.com will launch its latest transport solution for the automotive and manufacturing industries, the “extremely robust” sleeve pack container CabCube 1210, at this year’s IMHX event from 13th to 16th September on stand 11N40.

Designed and manufactured by supply chain packaging specialist CABKA-IPS, the new container is ideal for transporting large loads of components for just-in-time deliveries to production lines and warehouses and is able to deal with the logistical challenges specific to the automotive and manufacturing supply chains.

Comprising three sections, including a moulded open or closed base, a collapsible sleeve and a lid for supreme strength, the CabCube 1210 also provides a reliable stacking capacity. Thanks to the accurate injection moulding manufacturing process, the containers’ robustness, precision and longevity absorbs rough handling and hard impacts, which distinguishes it from other products on the market that are normally manufactured by means of a reformed thermo forming process.

In fact, this injection moulded base is set to revolutionise the market for FLC’s (folding large containers), as the CabCube 1210 base pallet is so much stronger, and can even replace traditional “thick sided FLC’s”, which have so far been used in both the automotive and production industries at only 65% of the cost. Furthermore, the lid is precisely contoured to allow the containers to sit safely and securely when stacked. This proven design is already in use with a major German based European car manufacturer, who has hundreds of thousands of these in its packaging fleet.

With a maximum stacking load of 1,500kg, the CabCube comes on nine feet and features a solid black PE base and lid, with a grey PP sleeve. Measuring 1,210mm (L) x 1,010mm (W) x 990mm (H), the new sleeve pack container is ideal for transportation of large volume parts. With a very generous load capacity of 875 litres and maximum load of 500kg, it can be stacked up to five high with 250kg of product in each or up to three high with 500kg in each.

At just 39kg, the three section CabCube 1210 is still very light and easy to handle since the lid has two web handles to make lifting it on and off easily, and it can pack down to just 222mm which saves considerable space in both storage and transit. In just a few steps, the sleeve can be collapsed to rest between the pallet and lid, thereby achieving a volume reduction of up to 80 per cent for a cost effective and CO2 efficient return transport.

It is possible to fit 78 containers in a 13.6m mega trailer and for the return journey it is possible to transport 364 empty containers in stacks of 14. Furthermore, the CabCube 1210 folds to half the height of the old traditional “thick sided FLC”, which run around empty in stacks of only six. For automotive and manufacturing companies that require customised partition packaging, it is possible to purchase the pallet and cover without the sleeve.
