Truck distributor Isuzu Truck (UK) Ltd has enhanced compliance & maintenance management by successfully migrating from its previous software provider and adopting i2i (issue2invoice), the latest innovation from leading automotive software provider r2c Online. Along with using the core r2c Online platform, Isuzu has integrated i2i throughout its dealer network to further streamline operations and keep up with the differing requirements of its customers.

With over 10,000 fleets using the r2c Online system, Isuzu is one of a rapidly growing number of companies utilising both i2i and the r2c Online package to its full capability. Isuzu Repair and Maintenance Manager Tony Parker was clearly impressed with the new offer; “The ‘Inspect’ package has been around for many years, becoming the clear market leader and now with the bolt-on i2i system it has moved forward considerably.”

Launched at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2015, i2i or ‘issue 2 invoice’ is a web-based pricing, authorisation and invoicing platform which r2c Online believe will revolutionise how fleet operators and repairers manage and control service, maintenance and repair work.

Nick Walls, Managing Director of r2c Online explained; “The ability to switch to an electronic method of pricing, authorising and invoicing SMR work not only saves 75% on the cost of processing every invoice, but also cuts downtime considerably and streamlines processes for both repairers and fleets. The i2i tool delivers a wide range of services such as increased workshop throughput, automated authorisations, easily distributed service information and pre-reconciled, accurate invoicing.”

For Isuzu, the i2i system represented a simpler way to control the annual distances, PMI frequency and servicing needs of its diverse range of customers and combine all of these individual needs into one easy-to-use platform. Tony Parker explains; “i2i has allowed Isuzu to incorporate and keep up to date, all parts files along with labour time guides, which has helped structure servicing and repair jobs for the dealers. The ability, in real time, to monitor from receipt of vehicle right through to invoice payment and measure individual vehicle costs against a plan is a very welcome benefit.”

Tony continued; “We needed electronic safety inspection and service paperwork that could be with customers within minutes of being signed off, as well as a more robust system for forward planning of all compliance responsibilities. The i2i system enables us to closely monitor, easily authorise and manage vehicle costs with instant visibility.”

r2c Online and the i2i product promise large efficiency improvements and cost savings throughout the end-to-end process of service, maintenance and repair. Just three months into using the system and having successfully migrated legacy data away from a previous, the software is already having a positive impact for Isuzu. Tony Parker acknowledges this by saying; “We are already seeing the benefits in time saving and the greater flexibility to manage many more aspects than we were previously able to. Together with ‘Inspect’ and the service planner, the i2i platform is a very formidable package. It is ideal for our needs today and will grow with us as technology, compliance and vehicle product changes occur.”
