Logistics BusinessAutomated Packaging Systems Previews IMHX Highlights

Flexible bagging systems provider Automated Packaging Systems® will preview new bagging and protective packaging solutions at this year’s IMHX exhibition.

The new space-saving, mobile AirPouch® AirTowerTM increases efficiency in the packing zone. It maintains a steady supply of inflated air pillows to multiple packing stations via a system of ducting and hoppers, as European Product Manager Steve Dougan explains: “Sensors in the mounted hoppers signal a central AirPouch Express 3 to replenish the store of filled pillows. New pillows are whisked quickly and quietly up the AirTower into the hopper, ready for draw down by packers.

“Users of the NEW AirTower report significant increases in productivity, and are deploying regained floor space in busy packing zones to increase the number of packing stations.”

Also NEW to IMHX is the latest Autobag® 850s mail order fulfilment bagger. Its innovative bag opening system speeds up packing operations and makes it possible to pack items securely into smaller bag sizes, reducing movement in the bag during transit.

“The system’s unique and clever design dramatically reduces the need for restrictive guarding, allowing the operators to load the bag at speed and with ease,”
explains Mail Order Fulfilment Specialist Duncan Hall. “The system grabs and securely grips the bag in a load-ready position, creating a pass-through of up to 275 x 275mm, making it ideal for large or multi-item orders.”

Automated Packaging Systems IMHX stand will also feature an operational AirPouch Express 3 with floor hopper, AirPouch FastWrap and Winder, and the space-saving desk top PS 125 bagging system, much in demand for smaller scale and multi-station mail order fulfilment operations.

Visitors to IMHX, 13 – 16 September at the NEC, Birmingham, will find Automated Packaging Systems on stand 9F40.
