The UK’s leading inland container service operator, Pentalver, has announced the latest phase in its strategic investment programme, the purchase of fifty-two Scania R450SCR trucks.

Forty-five of the fifty-two new vehicles are based out of Pentalver’s state-of-the-art Cannock depot and the remaining seven are located at its Felixstowe operation. The fleet purchase was made through Scania dealer, Keltruck Ltd.

Nick Matthews, general manager at Pentalver’s Cannock operation comments on the acquisition: “We are delighted to bring an additional fifty-two vehicles to our fleet, demonstrating both our ongoing investment to the UK road haulage industry and the strength of our relationship with Scania.

“Critically, the new vehicles provide great fuel economy and deliver in excess of 10mpg, an impressive 1mpg improvement over our existing vehicles. The ‘R’ series also provides a spacious cab for drivers as well as a range of safety features including forward facing cameras and nearside proximity sensors for cycle and pedestrian safety.

“As a growing business, our fleet replacement programme will see us seeking to replace a further seventy plus vehicles in 2016, reinforcing our commitment to a growing driver workforce.”

This announcement comes shortly after the official opening of the company’s new nine acre site at DP World London Gateway.
