Logistics BusinessUtrecht’s ICT & Logistiek Claims Record Visitor Numbers

With 145 exhibitors and 5,552 visitors, ICT & Logistiek is claiming record figures following this year’s staging in Utrecht earlier this month.

Visitors were able to visit eight theatres in the last two days. The KennisDC Logistics, iSHARE and various exhibitors organized sessions with a wide range of subjects: from talent innovation pooling to artificial intelligence. TLN and AIM organized tours, where visitors were informed of the various solutions in the market within one hour. “The focus of visitors was also reflected in the knowledge sessions and tours, where afterwards there were plenty of questions about the problems they are struggling with in their organization,” says exhibition manager Martijn de Weerd.
There was a lot of interest in the sessions on blockchain, says De Weerd: “There is a lot of insight into blockchain, but there is also a lot of confusion. The elusiveness of the theme is at the same time its attraction. Companies want to know if they have to do something with it now. And if so, what exactly? There is a big question mark.”

New this year was the Supply Chain Arena, a hotspot for supply chain management optimization. Here workshops, master classes and speed consultancies were offered, organized by BLMC, Solventure and Supply Chain Media.

Next year ICT & Logistiek will again take place alongside Logistica from 5 to 7 November 2019. According to De Weerd, two thirds of the exhibitors have already subscribed for the next edition. “That shows once again that the formula for an annual ICT & Logistics fair is right, in this technology-driven market.”
