Freight Rate Calculator Offers Real-Time Access to Market

Online freight marketplace Freightos, has launched its Freight Rate Calculator , which it claims is the first and only instant, multimodal international freight calculator that taps into live market rates to offer real-time FCL, LCL, air and trucking door-to-door freight estimates. The calculator is currently being launched as a public beta. This is the first time that international freight rate estimates for the whole globe are available publicly, bringing a new level of transparency to a massive critical industry which until now has been opaque.
With the freight rate calculator, retailers, exporters, distributors and wholesalers can get immediate freight rate estimates for ocean, air, and trucking shipments across the globe, with the optional ability to book some of those rates on the Freightos Marketplace. Access to this near real time information is all the more important for global businesses given increased usage of spot quotes, and rising rate volatility.
As part of Freightos’ goal of increasing transparency, global shipping estimates can be embedded into websites, either by embedding the actual calculator or via API access. B2B websites, media websites and a variety of web applications can stand to benefit from real-time access to global freight pricing.
Freightos’ Freight Rate Calculator leverages powerful routing and pricing algorithms to calculate fees and surcharges for trucking, air and ocean shipping, calculating anticipated ranges for shipping along different lanes by a variety of modes. An alternative version also exists which provides freight shipping estimates directly to Amazon FBA warehouses.
