Logistics Business60th Birthday Party for Italian Intralogistics Innovator

Italian intralogistics specialist ICAM has celebrated its 60th birthday with a stylish event and party, held in the splendid setting of the historical “Il Trappetello” residence in Monopoli, near Bari.

The company created in 1957 as the brainchild of Cavaliere Pietro Paolo Bianco to manufacture office furniture and light shelving for storage purposes is  today a leader in the design and production of “intelligent” warehouse and automatic storage and archiving systems.

What started out as the visionary project of an enterprising man, is today a firmly-established company with over 80 employees and 150 business partners, with over 3,200 installations in more than 50 countries around the world. For the last 60 years this family business has stood out for its ability to meet intralogistic needs with innovation, continually setting new standards.

ICAM’s ability to guide innovation in the field of intralogistics was at the heart of the celebrations. “The Next Intelligent Space” was the theme that accompanied employees, clients, suppliers, sales networks, relatives, friends and local authorities on their journey through 60 years of innovation at ICAM.

On the occasion of the company’s 60th anniversary ICAM has lifted its gaze to the future, in an attempt to imagine what material and goods mobility will look like in the future and it was able to do this with the help of three experts in the sector: Gianluca Monteleone, Senior Partner of Mashfrog Group; Fabio Giuliani, Logistics Director of Bosch, Bari and Enzo Baglieri, Associate Professor of Operations and Technology at the SDA Bocconi School of Management.

During the anniversary celebration, Roberto Bianco used a 2D video to show his guests the new corporate strategic vision, renewing the company’s mission: “to create intelligent, flexible, interoperable, autonomous automatic systems to help our clients and protect their materials and goods, making them available 24/7, in a sustainable, safe and comfortable way, wherever they are stored”.

All of us at Logistics Business wish many happy returns to ICAM and wish the company all the best for the future.
