The UK’s leading inland container service operator, Pentalver, has announced its commitment to develop a permanent container depot, based at DP World London Gateway.

Having opened for business in temporary premises at the UK’s newest deepwater port in April 2014, Pentalver’s new depot will see the company initially operating out of a purpose-built five acre site, with additional land available to accommodate future growth, expanding to nine acres within the first five years.

Phase one of the development, which opens in Spring 2015, will enable Pentalver to offer its full range of services to vessels discharging at DP World London Gateway, including cargo handling, transport, loaded storage, empty storage, reefer services, maintenance and container refurbishment.

Chris Lawrenson, managing director of Pentalver comments on the announcement, “Our DP World London Gateway operation has gone from strength-to-strength since opening our temporary site in April last year. We are delighted to be announcing plans for our permanent site at DP World London Gateway with an arrangement that not only offers us the potential for growth, but reinforces our commitment to investing in our customers’ requirements at locations of their choice.

“The new London Gateway operation will bolster the services we offer at our existing dockside depots and inland facility, so we are delighted to be playing a significant role in the future plans of the UK’s newest port.”

Simon Moore, CEO, DP World London Gateway, said: “Pentalver’s decision to move ahead with their permanent facility is a major development for us; this commitment clearly recognises the strategic importance of the UK’s newest deepwater port.”
