Big-Name UK Retailer Starts Operations at London Gateway

UK electrical and telecoms retailer Dixons Carphone has started operating from a 316,000 sq ft distribution facility at DP World London Gateway, joining the likes of UPS, Lidl and SH Pratt, Europe’s biggest fruit importer. The owner of Currys PC World, Carphone Warehouse and KNOWHOW, began operations at the high-spec, eco-friendly facility last week.

The facility now occupied by the Dixons Group is located at DP World London Gateway Logistics Park adjacent to a state-of-the-art, semi-automated, deep-sea container terminal. In time, Dixons Carphone intends to use the port facility, to boost supply chain savings and efficiency for the benefit of their customers.

The logistics space will enable Dixons Carphone to distribute more efficiently and sustainably in the South East, with a dedicated customer service centre on site.
