JSC Russian Railways Logistics took 50% stake in Latvian rail freight company SIA «Liepajas naftas tranzits» (LNT) through its affiliated partner RZDL Multimodal B. V. LNT is a licensed freight forwarder and registered in accordance with the legislation of Latvia.

Russian Railways Logistics strategic goals are focused on the rail freight market expansion and setting up a consolidated rail transport chain connected with the ports of Latvia. New project will allow RZDL to provide the stability and regularity of rail westbound transit.

Russian Railways Logistics is to provide LNT with a range of law support in the field of freight forwarding market of Russia.
According to Pavel Sokolov, Russian Railways Logistics CEO the combination of both companies experience and market knowledge will increase the effectiveness of Liepajas naftas tranzits as a rail freight forwarder.


“Russian Railways Logistics as a part of United transport and logistics company develops business in Europe and Asia as a priority. Currently we have a joint venture JSC Euro Rail Trans operating at that area. We believe that the cooperation with the Latvian based freight forwarder will give us a lot of new opportunities at multimodal-transport market of EU”
