Logistics BusinessDKV Euro Service in Alpe d’HuZes Charity Bid

Fuel service provider DKV is asking for support from the European logistics industry, we’re happy to help spread the word:

“This year DKV Euro Service Benelux celebrates its 30th anniversary and we would like to share this special moment by doing something for society. So we have chosen to actively participate in this year’s Alpe d’HuZes. Alpe d’HuZes is an event in which participants either run, walk or cycle in order to ascend Alpe d’Huez thereby raising as much money as possible for cancer relief. We chose Alpe d’HuZes because of its battle against the world’s number 1 cause of death, as all of us experience the tragic aspects of this disease in one way or another; sometimes remotely, often at close distance.

DKV Benelux has been embracing this event for several years in view of its CSR policy. This has for instance been done by supporting the AD6 Logistics Cluster in a practical and financial way by supplying DKV Cards for the benefit of vehicles on their way to France in the name of the foundation. This year we will be contributing by sending two teams, totalling 12 DKV people, to climb Alpe d’Huez in support of this great purpose. DKV Euro Service will enable its team the room to prepare, to raise sponsor funds and eventually to ascend Alpe d’Huez. Each of these colleagues will bring his or her own story, setting out the motivation to take up this challenge.

Gertjan Breij, Managing Director of DKV Euro Service Benelux: “DKV Euro Service Benelux celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and we wish to share this cherished moment as much as possible with the community that surrounds us. We are convinced of the necessity to look beyond the world of transport in order to make a difference. To our customers we wish to be a reliable, innovative service provider that also accounts for its corporate social responsibility. This is the reason why our DKV slogan has been extended from its original ‘You drive, we care’ to include ‘We walk, we care!’ and ‘We cycle, we care’.”

Together with our relations we aim to come up with the best result possible. To us, the contribution made by your company or by yourself will be more than welcome to enable us to raise our envisaged € 2,500.- minimum per participant. Each amount is more than welcomed by us. All of us are very eager and devoted to embark on this journey and to successfully ascend Alpe D’Huez several times on June 7.
