Logistics BusinessBoosting Flexibility and Efficiency in Intralogistics

With its new, ergonomic picking station, Aberle GmbH (part of Korber Logistics Systems) will be presenting a modularly designed pick & pack workplace for containers / boxes for the first time at LogiMAT. With its integrated modular design, the ergonomic picking workplace can be customised precisely to the performance and design characteristics required by the user. Aberle will also a workstation with a newly developed extension module for its PMS process management system. With its four modules PMS-W (warehouse management), PMS-M (material flow control), PMS-V (visualization) and PMS-E (energy efficiency), PMS offers a comprehensive software solution for inventory management, energy-saving process control and visualization in intralogistics.

This IT system is now supplemented by the new PMS-S, with which Aberle has developed a separate module for controlling shuttle systems. The latest version of the software is designed for shuttle systems that operate independently of aisles. These shuttles can move freely between warehouse aisles and work on all shelf levels via lifts. PMS-S manages the storage locations and containers as well as their characteristics and controls the shuttle and lift movements in the warehouse. At the same time, PMS-S ensures maximum safety and efficiency during the simultaneous operation of multiple shuttles in a single level.

Efacec, the newest company in Korber Logistics Systems, will offer a new floor and overhead conveyor system at the joint stand. With its load handling attachments, the system can be configured to transport cartons, containers weighing up to 300 kg and pallets weighing up to 1,500 kg – if necessary several LAM per gondola. The floor and overhead track thus offers users maximum flexibility. The rail system can be either attached to the building ceiling or a corresponding support structure or on a steel supporting structure on the floor. The overhead track is based on a highly intelligent, high-speed track system, beneath which the guided gondolas are suspended. The drive unit with a wheel made of a steel core and a polyurethane tire and polyurethane guide wheels ensures a low noise level during operation. The positioning takes place using a bar code reader with an accuracy of +/- one millimetre. Additional components such as turntables, transfer stations or lifts can be integrated in the overall construction. A
ll components comply with the standardized safety standards of VDI guidelines 3644 and 4441.

At Hall 1 stand, the fourth Korber company, Langhammer GmbH, will be providing information on innovative system solutions in the area of palletizing, pallet transport and cargo handling equipment. Here, the focus will be on the system development “The Wave”, presented at the joint stand of the sister companies last year. With its still unique combination of conveyor and safe carbon layer gripper, the system solution for fully automated, robotic layer palletization in industrial enterprises and service providers is among the most innovative products in the segment.

“The motto of LogiMAT 2016 is ‘Innovative action – Shaping change’,”
enthuses Aberle CEO Andreas Ebert. “The innovations presented by Korber Logistics Systems at the joint stand reflect the possibilities of the latest technological developments and offer users intelligent solution components for innovative business processes and flexible system solutions. They thus form a solid basis for maximum flexibility and efficiency in intralogistics.” Find the joint presentation at Hall Stand C16.
