Logistics BusinessTime-Critical Logistics Specialist Wins AEO Status

Priority Freight, a time-critical logistics specialist has been recognised as an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) for its operations in Madrid. This major accreditation is based on the customs-business partnership developed by the World Customs Organisation (WCO). Priority Freight has completed a broad range of strict criteria in close cooperation with customs authorities to gain the AEOC status.

This accreditation provides the time-critical logistics provider with the ability to enjoy benefits throughout the EU, something which is particularly pertinent in a post-Brexit Europe.

Andrew Austin, Group Operations Director at Priority Freight commented, “This is a major boost for our European operations. It is no secret that Brexit might cause some issues in the logistics industry and, post-Brexit, UK companies in particular might not be as trusted as their European counterparts. The AEOC status offers security and confidence in our customs practices and capabilities, meaning that customers can be safe in the knowledge that it is business as usual when dealing with Priority Freight.”

The benefits of holding AEOC status are numerous, giving quicker access to certain simplified customs procedures as well as the occasional ‘fast-track’ through customs and security for shipments.
For a logistics provider, not only does holding the AEOC status allow for a quicker customs procedure but also the ability to move goods to temporary storage between different member states, be eligible for a notification waiver when making an entry in a declarant’s records (EIDR), and receive a 70% reduction in business’ deferment account guarantee.

Such accreditation places Priority Freight, it claims, as a market leader in the industry, indicating its ability and consistent delivery of time-critical solutions. Managers promise best in class service even in slightly uncertain times for the logistics industry.
