Rhenus UK Expands Capabilities With KOG Acquisition

The Rhenus Group has acquired Swiss project logistics specialist KOG Worldwide AG. KOG Worldwide is a global leader in the area of plant equipment logistics and will operate under Rhenus Project Logistics division.
Business activities will be merged, but the KOG brand will continue to be used. Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, KOG operates 21 companies in 18 different countries worldwide managing complex international logistics projects for customers, specialising in plant construction. KOG Worldwide largely focuses on project logistics and transporting abroad, mainly to the USA, Europe and Asia.
KOGs routes from Europe into markets in the USA and Asia, along with an increased capacity through multiple new sites across the world, are intended to help strengthen Rhenus UKs network.
Tobias König, managing director of Rhenus Project Logistics, said: Rhenus Project Logistics recently adjusted its strategy to become more international by opening new locations in North Africa and Asia. This acquisition will enable us to significantly expand our range of products and our project logistics network.
Rhenus UK says it is working on a number of new projects including launching multiple new shipping, air freight and road routes across Europe and rolling out new services to customers as well as growing its team of 250 people.
