Logistics BusinessUKWA Announces Technology Advisory Board To Offer Best Practice Guidance

The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has announced the launch of a Technology Advisory Board that will develop and deliver advice and best practice guidance on how the logistics industry can implement technology to improve processes and operational efficiency.

UKWA’s CEO, Peter Ward, comments: “With solutions ranging from general IT systems and automated packing solutions through to eCommerce and delivery solutions, technology is playing an increasingly critical role in the sector. UKWA has internal Advisory Boards in place to provide strategic leadership and direction for the industry on a variety of matters, but until now there has never been one focusing on technology.”

The first UKWA Technology Advisory Board meeting will be hosted by software giant Microsoft at the company’s London based UK Head Office on Wednesday 8th February, 2017.
At its inaugural meeting the Board will consider the importance of cloud technology to the logistics industry with particular emphasis on the ways in which the sector can harness the cloud to manage rapidly emerging B2B e-commerce demands. Maginus, the Manchester-based multichannel retail solutions supplier, will lead the meeting.
