Logistics BusinessDoosan Continues Investment in UK Operations

The Doosan business has had an affinity with Northamptonshire for nearly 25 years and the continued and rapid growth of the UK subsidiary with strong support from the UK Dealer Network, as well as the recent acquisitions of Genesis and Rushlift, has opened the door to a new beginning for the company.

Located for the past 15 years on Northampton’s Brackmills Industrial Estate, Doosan has expanded and upgraded its Head Office facility, to become more aligned with its true status as one of the market leaders in the UK forklift market.

Two additional properties have now been secured, refurbished and completed, now home to brand new state-of-the-art workshops for both new Doosan trucks and the local depot for Rushlift’s Midlands area, providing a safe, more modern and clean environment for the service technicians who are preparing new Doosan trucks and repairing and refurbishing some of Rushlift’s short term rental fleet and used machines.

One huge advantage that Doosan says its customers will now benefit from is the additional space to hold a wide variety of over 100 new trucks, which can be made ready and available for very quick deliveries, often able to support customers, who find themselves in the unfortunate situation of needing quick delivery of trucks.

A brand new showroom area is being created which will enable customers to view the whole range of counter balance and warehouse equipment and the huge range of options such as cabins, safety equipment and fleet management systems that Doosan offer.

The company is actively encouraging all of staff, dealers and customers to visit Doosan HQ “to experience first hand the high levels of innovation, quality and durability that Doosan trucks are renowned for”.

The UK’s Parts Distribution Centre, has increased its capacity by 50% allowing us to carry in excess of £1-million worth of stock for next day deliveries, ensuring all Doosan customers get the best possible support from within the UK and we have opened up new opportunities to increase our parts offering, with items such as forks, lubricants, LED lights and many other items to become, a truly one-stop-shop for all of our dealers and customers.

This additional building space has also provided us with the chance to create a centre of excellence for engineer training, housing a purpose built classroom and two workshop areas to carry out hands-on training for new and existing engineers, which will undoubtedly increase the already high levels of expertise that our 550 nationwide technicians already possess.

25 additional jobs have now been realised, benefiting the Northamptonshire region, while the high quality of refurbishments to the existing premises, “ensures that existing staff are also valued and given the best possible environment to carry out their vital roles”.
