Logistics BusinessSTI Serves Up a Treat For Sandwich Chain

STI (U.K.) Ltd., a subsidiary of logistics provider STI Freight Management, now organises logistics services into a large number of European Subway distributors on behalf of their client, IPC Europe, an independent purchasing organisation for Subway franchisees.

The specialist for temperature-controlled transport uses state of the art multi-temperature trucks to deliver food and non-food products every month to national distribution partner’s interim storage facilities. “Our European network gives us the possibility to serve Subway’s various regional markets quickly and efficiently,” says Roy Evans, Business Development Manager at STI UK. STI UK acts as the European control tower, managing the supply chain of the sandwiches across Europe with the exception of STI Sweden, who, in partnership with HAVI Logistics AB (Sweden), manage their own market.

“STI Freight Management’s dedication to quality and the diversity of its available equipment are some of the elements that make the organisation so attractive to IPC Europe,” says Evans. Subway is the world’s largest sandwich chain and demands very high delivery standards. STI guarantees just-in-time delivery, continuously controlled cooling chains and efficient route planning for every transport. According to Roy Evans: “Our aim is to be more than just a transport service provider. We see ourselves on the journey to becoming strategic partners, always looking to foresee and offer solutions to IPC Europe’s logistical challenges.”

STI Freight Management GmbH’s business is headquartered in Duisburg, Germany. In addition to the international transport of food and other temperature-sensitive goods, such as high-quality pharmaceuticals, the company also supplies cruise liners and provides warehousing and customs clearance as well.
