Fives Cinetic has been awarded a contract by MNG KARGO

Fives Cinetic has been awarded a contract by MNG KARGO for the automation of seven hubs in Turkey.

MNG Kargo is one of the leading express courier (air freight) companies in Turkey, and with its extensive network takes care also of the Turkish domestic delivery for FedEx Express

The core of the logistic network is represented by 7 major hubs, strategically located in the most populated and industrialized areas, including Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

In order to cope with the fast growing volumes and to meet the highest possible standards, MNG Kargo selected Fives Cinetic’s SBIR Cross Belt Sorter as the technology for the automation of its network. Main drivers for the decision have been the reliability of the automation solution proposed by Fives Cinetic and the small operating cost guaranteed by the technology: in fact the sorters are equipped with energy efficient brushless drives that allow delivering the highest power efficiency on the market.

Five systems will be capable of sorting parcels up to 100 kg weight and 1.5 m length automatically, at a rate of over 10,000 parcels per hour, while in the two smaller hubs the capacity will be 4.000 pph.

The systems will be deployed and will become operational during the first half of 2011.
