Chaintec announces 12% sales growth for 2008

Chaintec, the country’s leading supplier of leaf chain to the forklift truck replacement market, has announced a strong set of results for 2008 trading, with a headline 12% increase in sales during that period. The company has delivered growth in both its UK sales and export divisions.

This growth is contrary to the current economic trend as David Hassan, Managing Director at Chaintec explains, “12% growth in sales in any climate is a strong performance but given the recent downturn in global trading conditions we are particularly proud of our results this year. Our growth is the direct result of the roll-out of our 3 year strategy to extend our product range, flex our services offering within the UK and expand our worldwide export network.”

Chaintec has witnessed a significant increase in demand for value-added services as the squeeze on costs has tightened and an important factor in Chaintec’s growth has been the development of its on-site fitting services. First offered more than 5 years ago, the turn-key supply and fit solution minimises administration overhead and reduces maintenance costs. Chaintec identifies and supplies the right chain first time to its local engineer who expertly fits the chain to the forklift truck (FLT) onsite. The service has now been extended to a wider range of FLT’s, including order pickers with very high masts, which are serviced using our own in-house scissor lift.

The opening of a new Chaintec office in Southampton during 2008 has extended the availability of supply and fit services to a wider audience in the South.

Chaintec has continued to expand its export operations during 2008 with successful attendance at trade shows in Eastern Europe in spring and The Middle East last autumn. During 2009 Chaintec has plans to further extend its presence in The Middle East through attendance at the forthcoming Materials Handling Middle East exhibition, (www.materials-handling-dubai.com) being held from May 31 – June 2, 2009, at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, Dubai, UAE. The Chaintec stand is No MH117.

Chaintec has over 15 years experience servicing the forklift replacement market, and their product range includes the acclaimed Zi-Co coated chain which extends the life of chains operating in hostile environments. The company has a reputation for expertise and service and its industry-leading database of trucks, model numbers and OEM part numbers enables the customer services team to identify the correct chain for any unit.
