Craig, 38, brings with him a wealth of experience from his 13 years in the materials handling industry. Comments David James, Managing Director of KNAPP UK Ltd, “We’re very pleased to welcome Craig on board. KNAPP is renowned as a brand name synonymous with integrating best-in-class picking solutions across all vertical business sectors. In recent years, KNAPP has supplied successful solutions to a wide range of clients including shoe retailer Clarks, British Gas, John Lewis and a large percentage of the pharmaceutical industry. Craig’s appointment will help us to continue raising KNAPP’s profile generally in automated handling by expanding both our internal systems and our external contacts with existing and potential customers.”

Craig Rollason has managed the UK & Eire operations at Daifuku Europe for the past three years, prior to which he worked in system sales for ten years with Vanderlande. Says Craig, “I’m delighted to be taking up this challenging strategic role with KNAPP. Last year the company took an impressive number of orders in the UK from customers including Phoenix Healthcare, Sangers, United Drug, British Gas, Avon Cosmetics, Ocado, Lloyds Pharmacy and CooperVision. The group has experienced a period of sustained and rapid growth – including the acquisition last June of the Swedish logistics firm Moving AB and the opening of new branches in emerging markets, including China – so these are exciting times.”

The UK operation of the Austrian-owned group has undergone significant structural and managerial changes during recent years. “The changes within KNAPP UK Ltd,” comments Craig Rollason, “mean that the organisation is now even stronger, with an excellent customer support offering. We have resident engineering teams at a number of UK customer sites including Clarks, British Gas, John Lewis and the new facility for The Co-operative Pharmacy in Stoke, which is soon to be completed. As well as continuing to install and support systems for these large, blue-chip companies,” adds Craig, “we also want to help SMEs to implement automation for the first time in their logistics operations.”
