DB Schenker opens new logistics centre in Vietnam

State-of-the-art hub for global and national services • Flagship facility for important growth market

(Essen/Ho Chi Minh City, March 17, 2009) Today, Schenker Vietnam Co Ltd opened its flagship facility in Song Than Industrial Park I of Binh Duong Province, close to Ho Chi Minh City. The USD5.5 million investment jointly with Vietnam partner Gemadept, marks a significant milestone for both organisations in the fast growing Vietnam market.

The new facility will function as a key logistics hub for Manufacturers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Contract Manufacturers and distributors alike, especially for the enterprises in high-tech and industrial zones in Binh Duong Province and Ho Chi Minh City.

“More than ever, this facility will not only serve as an important hub for the Vietnam market, but will also be an integral hub in our regional and global network, as we continue to strengthen our logistics footprint to better serve our customers needs in Vietnam, Asia Pacific and the rest of the world,” said Steve Dearnley, CEO, Schenker (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd.
