Ergonomic Design is critical to users of Ladders Racks
Prime Design, established in 1992 by Avi Levi, is market leader in the design and manufacture of ladder roof racks in the United States. Since 2006, Prime Design is has been active on the European market with its own design for the European market. The product range of ergonomic and safe roof racks has expanded in the last two years, for every type of van there is a ladder rack available which can be used on the ground floor. Prime Design is proud to present its product range during the I.A.A (25 Sept- 2 Okt- Hall 13 Stand B20) in Hannover.
Prime Design Europe operates out of Belgium, but is active all over Europe. In charge of Prime Design Europe, Mr. Koen Bessemans, offers products that have been developed, with special attention to user friendliness. The full range of aluminum ladder racks can be used on the ground, without climbing on the roof of your vehicle. There is a roof rack available for every type of vehicle.
Security on the work floor, important for everyone.
Often it is very difficult for a company to find good and motivated staff. Therefore it becomes more important to offer them good working conditions, with special attention to their safety and comfort. Nevertheless you often will see those who use ladders in their jobs climbing on the roof of their work van via a small ladder mounted on the backdoor in order to load or unload a long and heavy ladder on the roof rack. This procedure exposes the individual to an unnecessary risk of injury. The Prime Design ladder racks make it possible to do this operation safely while standing on the ground. Prime Design developed further, a system by which it is no longer needed to push the ladder on the roof with pure man force.
This is by the way, a movement that is very damaging for the back and shoulders. From now on you can load the ladder on the roof with a long handle. The person who uses the ladder system doesn’t have to lift or climb on the roof. The long handle brings the force on the Driveshaft, so that the user doesn’t have to lift the weight. The hydraulic cylinder makes sure that the movement of the ladder is being stopped when coming down. This prevents the ladder touching the side of the vehicle. While charging, the cylinder stops the fall of the ladder on the ladder rack. The loading and unloading of the ladder is done in 47 seconds. The unique automatic clamping system makes sure that the ladder is automatically locked, so that load loss is being avoided.
Light weight and high resistance go together
The Prime Design ladder rack is made of aluminum. The total weight of the system is approximately 35 kg. This is very critical as the maximum roof load of a light commercial vehicle is often not much higher than 100 kg. For this reason, it was important to develop a light weight but very strong system. In addition, the design of the system was made to avoid any sharp corners. Prime Design has tested its ladder racks in severe circumstances and they operate very well even with extreme temperatures.
Mounting points for every type of vehicle
Prime Design has also developed a complete range of channels and mountings for its roof racks, so that they fit each type of van. This can go from separate fixation points to complete full roof channels. The roof channels, when the roof of the van it requires, can be bent in the shape of the roof. Furthermore, the roof rack can be fitted on that spot of the roof, which is ideal for the user of the van. Prime Design utilizes these mounting points, which are supplied by the manufacturer of the van.
An ‘Inclined’ system for heavy ladders
Prime Design offers its roof rack, as of now, with an “Inclined” system. This system ensures that the front of the ladder no longer has to be lifted of the roof. The front of the ladder just comes down by gravity. The Incline system can also be used for heavier and longer ladders.
Accessories that make the difference
Prime Design expanded its spinoff products, by which the roof racks gains more functionality. Beacon holders, for example, can be fitted on the roof rack, which makes drilling in the roof of the van unnecessary. Furthermore, the ladder rack easily can be combined with a roof rack on the other side of the roof (double system). By adding a third crossbar, the ladder rack becomes a dual functioning roof rack. A roller can also be added. This makes it possible to easily load and unload a ladder without climbing on another ladder. Finally, a tube holder can be added, where tubes can safely be transported.
