Jungheinrich PROFISHOP has received the 2017 Swiss E-Commerce Award in the category of ‘Best Online Shop’. The e-commerce portal, which has since been extended to the UK, was presented with the Award on 31 May at the E-Commerce Connect Conference in Zurich, Switzerland. A total of 150 mobile and online shops competed for the coveted industry honour.

Designed and operated by the intralogistics specialists at Jungheinrich, PROFISHOP was named the winner on account of its user friendliness and enjoyable buyer experience. Jungheinrich PROFISHOP has only been on the Swiss market since March 2016, but has quickly established itself as a popular online store for factory equipment.

Stefan Wissler, Head of Online Retailing at the Jungheinrich Group, expressed his delight at winning the award: “Jungheinrich PROFISHOP has been active in Switzerland for a little over a year. Winning the Swiss E-Commerce Award after such a short period of time proves our market launch was a success. For us, the award is above all confirmation of the fact that investing in user-friendly, top-of-the-line web shopping technology does indeed pay off.”

Jan Lorenz, Managing Director, Jungheinrich UK, commented: “The Swiss E-Commerce Award demonstrates that the Group-wide efforts to ensure we are consistently providing outstanding service, at all points of customer engagement, are being recognised and well-received by our customers. We are delighted to launch PROFISHOP UK, and offer these same great benefits locally. The addition of an online store allows our multi-channel approach to encompass even more touch points for customers to work with us in a way that best suits them.”

First established in Germany in 2006, the Jungheinrich PROFISHOP has since been introduced in a total of 11 European countries and has achieved a turnover in excess of £58 million. This year the UK is one of six countries to adopt the platform as part of the continual expansion and international growth of the Jungheinrich e-commerce business, which saw a net sales increase of 19 per cent in 2016.
