Gunter celebrates 40 years with Jungheinrich
Gunter Fritzsche - one of the forklift truck industry’s best known personalities - recently celebrated forty years with Jungheinrich.
Gunter, who joined the Jungheinrich Group as a trainee in Germany before moving to the UK, has held a number of positions with the company but is perhaps best known for his role in establishing Jungheinrich (UK) Ltd’s Automated Systems Division at Wythenshawe, near Manchester.

Latest Kombi uses RFID and Warehouse Management Systems to achieve 15 per cent gains
Jungheinrich has announced the introduction of a new version of its very narrow aisle EKX 513-515 Kombi order picker/stacker. According to Jungheinrich, the truck is capable of increasing productivity in a warehouse or distribution centre by some 15 per cent.
The original model in the range was launched last year and its clever use of RFID to enhance the truck’s performance and safety was enthusiastically received by truck users.

New CAT order picker lifts faster and higher in the warehouse
Briggs Equipment, the UK’s national Cat Lift Truck distributor, has launched the new Cat high level order picker. The product offers the highest lift height and the fastest lifting speed in the market.
The NOH10N lifts to a maximum height of 10m at speeds of up to 0.40 metres/second. The product, which is a completely new design, incorporates Cat’s unique poweRamic mast design. By building the hydraulic cylinder into the mast’s structure, rigidity and buckling strength have been increased by up to 500% with a more compact design. This gives maximum stability at high lift heights whilst ensuring that the driver has excellent visibility through the mast.

New Empty Container Handlers from Linde Material Handling
The market for port handling technology is expanding globally at an annual growth rate of approximately 7%. Simultaneously, the demand for high-quality customer-specific solutions is also increasing. In response to these trends, Linde Material Handling is launching several container handlers that are all set to be on the market by 2009. The launch begins this month with the Linde C90 empty container handler with 9-tonne lifting capacity using a 4.0-metre wheelbase, which can stack 8´6´´ containers to 7 high. By quarter four 2008, additional models will also be available with a 4.5-metre wheelbase, these models are able to single-stack 8’6” containers to 8 high, with the ability to double-stack 8’6” containers to 7 high.

Linde Boosts Heavy Trucks Business
By creating an independent business unit, Linde Material Handling aims to boost its heavy truck business and occupy a stronger position in the global market. This was underlined by Theodor Maurer, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) at Linde Material Handling GmbH, and Roland Hartwig, Managing Director of the Linde Heavy Truck Division, during a press event at the Merthyr Tydfil production site in the UK. Kalmar Industries partners with Södra
