Fives Cinetic wins Contract to Supply United Airlines

In July, Fives Cinetic has won an award from United Airlines to design and supply an automated systems at the air cargo facility of O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois.

The 3,000 piece per hour mail sort system is designed by Fives Cinetic and will utilize its LPS singulator to feed the product single-file to a downstream six-sided scan tunnel prior to induction onto its TRISORT SDX shoe-sorter. The sorter will discharge items to one of 68 slide positions around the sorter loop.

The ULD handling equipment is integrated by Fives Cinetic and supplied by Murata Machinery. Both LPS Singulator and TRISORT SDX shoe sorter technologies were designed and developed by Fives Cinetic.

Commissioning will take place from December 2011 with customer handover by January 2012
