ROS Rack Repair - 6 years later.

Since initiating a revolutionary new technique to repair racks in November 2004, the ROS rack repair system has seen a tremendous growth in the number of repairs. With over 50,000 repairs executed since 2005 and the recent addition of the USA and South-Africa (our ninth and tenth market), ROS Rack Repair has now become a true global leader in rack repairs.

After extensive testing by TNO and the publication of an investigative article written by by Jan-Paul Bomans (Norbert Dentressangle Logistics) in the January 2005 edition of leading dutch Transport & Logistics magazine ('Transport & Logistiek'), the new rack repair system was embraced by many. Also the guidance of Mr. Van Schil (Ikea Netherlands) in conducting professional test, experiences and subsequent support of the new repair system helped us enormously

During the first year we produced our materials and dies in a small garage but already in 2005 ROS moved to a new facility, acquired milling machines and created an entire new manufacturing facility.

From the beginning, requests for rack repairs were overwhelming, which created an enormous pressure on our organization which in the course of two years had grown substantially.

After the third year we went international and participated in our first international exhibition in Brussels which was a great success. We had no time to eat, large multinational companies were interested in our product, and we organized demos and executed orders throughout the Benelux.

The market was growing very fast and, again, our organization soon became too small to cope with all the repair requests so we hired and trained more people once more.

In the meantime, the tools were constantly improved, became better and were manufactured more efficiently. This was a very dynamic time in which we proudly added important clients such as Coca-Cola, Pepsico, DHL, Akzo Nobel, Ahold and Sligro to our customer list.

In 2007 we started to receive inquiries to repair racks in Spain, Germany and the UK. In order to keep up with the rapidly growing demand we decided to start cooperating with strong, local licensing partners. Since then, we found great licensing partners like Edwin van Gorp in Spain, Steward Brind in the UK and Leo van Aken in Germany.

The growth and organization of our company went hand-in-hand with the increase in demand and the visibility and recognition of our brand. Also, our repair technique is truly 'green' as it doesn't involve any usage of natural resources, which gives us a great competitive advantage when compared with the production-process of new racks which use on average 4 liters of gasoline per rack as well as paint.

Having become aware of the success of ROS's system, several rack manufacturers started to aggressively campaign against us by misinforming customers about our procedures, claiming we could not guarantee the strength after repairs and were causing tears in the metal.

Our response is always simple; as part of our continuous improvement program, we test our system on a regular basis. Tests at Bayer in Germany, DHL in the UK and a recent all-out test by Oxford University in the UK are very conclusive in proving our critic-asters dead-wrong.

In 2009 we started in France by partnering with Phillipe Gysel who almost immediately signed a contract with Toyota Forklifts which created a boost for our sales and overall brand-awareness. At about the same time Volkswagen, Lufthansa, Nestlé, Ceva Logistics, Audi, Renault and Carrefour became clients of ROS, adding even more global brand names to our client list.

Thus far in 2010, we have opened up two more territories by partnering with Dale Martin in the USA and Cullum McKay in South Africa

Needless to say that we are very excited by the fact that in five years time, ROS Rack Repair has grown from an idea into a leadership position with a new tried and tested product, used in ten territories and countries around the world.

Despite the economic downturn our company, partners and employees have earned the trust of a growing international customer base. That's something we are very proud and extra motivation to work diligently to deliver great rack repairs, one at a time.
