Westfalia implements Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) for Reissdorf Brewery
To have longevity one must continue to grow and adapt to the times. For over 100 years, Heinrich Reissdorf brewery has been doing just that by introducing new products, following its core principles and investing in new technology innovations. In 2003, Westfalia installed a 3,400 pallet position automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) and conveyor system. Recently, Westfalia enhanced the AS/RS to store an additional 33% more pallets, up to 5,000 pallet places, in the same building, and without a disruption to the warehousing system.

MAN successfully places corporate bonds
MAN AG has placed two bonds worth a total of €1.5 billion on the capital market. The bonds issued are 4-year and 7-year bonds which will be used to repay bridge financing taken on to acquire the Brazilian commercial vehicle activities from Volkswagen.
The total amounts issued are €1 billion for the four-year tranche and €500 million for the seven-year tranche. The bonds carry coupons of 5.375% and 7.25% respectively and were placed long-term with investors at credit spreads of 305 bps and 425 bps respectively over mid-swaps. The value date is May 20, 2009. The four-year bond will thus be redeemed on May 20, 2013 and the seven-year bond on May 20, 2016.

As Board Member Finance and Human Resources and as Labour Director, he will complete the Executive Board led by Chairman Carsten Spohr. Peter Gerber succeeds Dr. Roland Busch, who will in future head the Finance and Human Resources division on the Lufthansa Passenger Airlines Board. Peter Gerber was appointed to his present post as Senior Vice President Corporate Industrial Relations and Social Security in December 2004.

New rail connection from DIT in Duisburg to Rotterdam
Duisburg Intermodal Terminal, DIT, now has an additional direct rail connection with the ECT terminals in Rotterdam. The Dutch rail operator DistriRail B.V. has transferred its container delivery service from Duisburg DeCeTe to DIT. The decisive factors for DistriRail were DIT’s better hinterland connections and the possibility of stepping-up the frequency of trains at DIT.
